Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to common questions about Watchdog Security’s features and support.
Do I need to purchase consulting to use WatchDog?
Nope! You can use WatchDog entirely on your own. Everything in the platform is available without any consulting. We provide detailed documentation and in-app guidance to help you get audit ready.
Who needs a business license on my team?
Technically, no one needs a Business license to use WatchDog. You can stay on the Free plan forever, or use the Core plan to access training, policy acknowledgment, vendor tracking, user monitoring, and more — all without touching the Business tier.
However, if you want to use our Compliance Center — which includes unlimited frameworks from our growing library of 15+ (like SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, etc.) — you’ll need a Business license for any admin who will be interacting with the Compliance Center.
Can I mix different license types in my organization?
Yes, you can mix licenses – even Free users. You only need to upgrade licenses where it makes sense. However, if a user needs to be included in compliance tracking or access the entire platform without restrictions they’ll need to be on at least the Core plan.
Where are your consultants based, and who are they?
Yes, you can mix licenses – even Free users. You only need to upgrade licenses where it makes sense. However, if a user needs to be included in compliance tracking or access the entire platform without restrictions they’ll need to be on at least the Core plan.
How do consulting engagements work?
All consulting work is handled separately from your platform subscription. When you’re ready to proceed, we’ll sign a dedicated Master Services Agreement (MSA) + Statement of Work (SOW) that outlines the scope, deliverables, and timeline for your consulting engagement.
